Overview:
Lafarge is looking for someone with a strong business focus and a passion for sustainable development, circularity and the environment to join our growing Products and Solutions team.

You will support the growth of our Montreal soil management business by planning and coordinating the daily throughput of our receiving sites, correctly allocating batches to customers and projects, organizing our testing and ensuring the timely analysis of audit samples. You’ll also help the Excess Soil and Circular Economy team with new capacity permitting, business and operational planning, record-keeping and compliance documentation, and the oversight of soil quality prequalification.

**Salary**: $34-36 per hour

**Responsibilities**:
**Safety Culture**:

- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies throughout the work environment.
- Lead by example to promote a positive safety culture.
- Ensure safe and healthy working conditions on sites under your responsibility.
- Ensure strict compliance with all health and safety rules and national regulations.
- Promote Lafarge’s safety guidelines and standards to customers and operators hauling excavated material on our fill sites.

**Daily Coordination**:

- Coordinate incoming soil and communicate directly with customers.
- In collaboration with Sales, allocate resources to balance capacity limitations with customer demands and environmental requirements.
- Organize excess soil confirmation sampling and oversee the daily review of results and approvals to prepare the site for the day’s operations.
- Supervise the Fast Track testing program to maximize daily throughput capacity.

**Capacity Management**:

- Track and report each site’s imported material capacity on an ongoing basis, and communicate daily with internal stakeholders, including host plant managers, the Sales team and compliance functions (Land and Environment).

**Customer Value Creation**:

- Identify and understand the current and unmet needs of existing and potential customers in relation to the supply of excess soil in the GMA.

**Relationships with Other Jobs**:

- Reports to the Senior Manager - Excess Soil GMA & EO
- Works closely on an ongoing basis with various internal stakeholders including Mtl East operational staff, GMA sales staff and compliance functions (Land, Environment, Health and Safety, etc.).

**Dimensions**:

- Over 700,000 m3 of soil placement

**Work Environment and Travel**:

- Outdoor work in hot, cold, wet and arid conditions (>80%)
- Frequent travel between project sites in the sub-market area.

Qualifications:
**Education & Work Experience**:

- Undergraduate degree in business technology or engineering, or significant industry experience
- Knowledge of the construction industry an asset
- Knowledge of waste management and environmental regulations an asset.
