**POSITION OVERVIEW**

BCW Traffic Management Ltd. is a leading traffic control company in BC looking for a talented Financial Controller who will work closely with ownership and senior management team to support successful execution of corporate strategy and project management. As a key member of the management team, the Controller will have the opportunity to have influence on daily operations. This position works in our Surrey head office and reports directly to the President with dotted line to CEO and GM of BCW Traffic Management Ltd. Within the next two years this position has the potential to grow into a CFO position.

The Position is required to communicate with field and office co-workers to assist with problem resolution. Furthermore, interact with customers, vendors, financial institutions, and other related external parties,

**Key Responsibilities**:
The Controller’s Portfolio will be:

- responsible for managing the team responsible for providing financial and technical expertise to continuously improve financial processes to ensure BCW keeps up with best industry practices.
- The position is responsible and accountable for the preparation and provision of financial analysis on monthly and as needed basis. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Prepare revenue, expense, and capital budgets, monitoring budget target.
- Advice to Managers to achieve those targets.
- Prepare and monitor variance analysis and making recommendations.
- Prepare current year, annual and multi-year financial forecasts.
- Prepare cash-flow forecasts.
- Own the QuickBooks financial process and provide key support for financial users.
- Build financial and other reports within the organization’s system.
- Developing the performance measurement system and monitor on a periodic basis to determine results.
- Ensure the performance measurement system correlates to the strategic plan.
- Manage Finance team and other office staff.
- Other duties as assigned by the President, CEO, and GM

**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies**:

- Professional Canadian Accounting Designation (CPA), or related experience required.
- Must be fluent in English.
- Must possess broad experience as a senior level policy formulator/adviser. Experience in Construction industry is a strong asset.
- Knowledge of strategic and business planning processes including budgeting.
- Knowledge of accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls.
- Knowledge of construction industry and project management.
- Ability to develop and implement efficient financial systems.
- Ability to organize, present and communicate information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to develop relationships with other business units to work collectively.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership and work within a flexible team environment.
- Ability to organize, guide, motivate and lead a diverse team.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to provide reliable and accurate information to the organization.
- Highly effective critical thinking skills
- Knowledge of Payroll and Benefits.
- Proven ability to multi-task & ability to prioritize tasks.
- Proficient in MS Outlook, Excel, Word, QuickBooks online.
- Required to work extended hours including occasional weekends.
