Children love to express themselves making art, dancing, and acting Join the Cambridge Centre for the Arts summer staff team and help create a dynamic, fun and creative experience for them this summer. We are looking for people who love children, have an affinity for the arts and would enthusiastically welcome the opportunity to ensure children have the best possible experience in our visual and performing arts camps.

**What you will be doing**:

- Be responsible for supervising Arts Camp Assistant Leaders including developing work schedule, providing direction, responding to any concerns. Liaise with and respond to parent inquiries.
- Liaises with Arts Coordinator regarding any program issues, art supply/material requirements, equipment needs or other concerns
- Liaises with arts educators - artists and performers who lead the camp activities (primarily art but also some dance/drama/music camps) and with participating children
- Monitor supply levels and keep rooms organized and clean
- Greet and orient children and parents to facility programs; ensure proper facility documentation is complete.
- Supervise children during before and after care hours, breaks and lunch hour including preparing and leading activities during these times to keep children engaged and happy
- Maintain all health and safety regulations; ensure participant code of conduct is followed.

**Education**:
Actively pursuing a college diploma or university degree in the Arts (art, drama, dance, music), Education or Recreation and Leisure

**Experience and Knowledge**:

- Experience supervising staff and children in a camp or program setting
- Must possess relevant administration, supervision, communication, and leadership skills
- Keen and enthusiastic attitude and approach to children, parents and arts programming
- Excellent organizational and customer service skills

**We are looking for these certificates**:

- High Five - Principles of Healthy Child Development
Standard First Aid with CPR C and AED
Quest 2 (considered an asset)

**We will ask you for these items if you are hired (may be obtained post offer)**:

- Current and valid Police Vulnerable Sector Check to be provided prior to commencement in this position.
Proof of your current and valid certificate(s) and/or educational qualifications.
High Five-PHCD Certificate & Standard First Aid, CPR C AED Certificate
Supervisor Health & Safety Awareness Training Certificate from the Ministry of Labour

**Rate of pay**:
The hourly rate for this position is $18.00.

**Hours of work**:

- Exact dates to be determined
- July and August, Monday - Friday; 8:30 am - 4:30 pm with 1 hour lunch (unpaid)
- Camp does not run July 3 (stat holiday for Canada Day) and August 7 (Civic Holiday)
- Additional hours will be scheduled for before and after care depending on registration levels (7:15-8:30 am and 4:30- 5:45 pm)
- Mandatory prep, on-line and in person training sessions dates and times in June to be determined.
