The Security System Design Specialist at Hikvision Canada is the primary technical resource and customers’ point of contact for the Territory. The incumbent is responsible for actively driving and managing the technology assessment stage of the sales process. He/She works in conjunction with the sales team as a key technical advisor and product advocate for our products. The System Design Specialist provides product training to customers and other members of the sales team. The System Design Specialist must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users.
**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**
- Plan and modify product configurations to meet customer needs
- Meet administrative and reporting requests on time in accordance with Company policy
- Provide technical support and equipment set-up for industry tradeshows and regional training events
- Confer with customers to assess equipment needs and to determine system requirements and offer product training
- Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of company products, and to provide sales support
- Partner with sales teams to develop, present, and provide customers with project solution design as per customer requirements, including requests for proposal responses and industry-specific solutions
- Be able to provide POC service for the project
- Be able to gain insight into the project needs of integrators and end users, lead their needs, and promote the implementation of solution strategies
- Stay updated with the latest security products, tools, and industry trends to advise customers effectively
- Support Sales Team with live and webinar based demos for security dealers and/or end-users
- Promote the sales of products, such as computer systems, requiring extensive technical expertise, and support the installation and integration
- Diagnose problems of installed equipment
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations of products or services to existing and potential customers
- Conduct training sessions for customers and sometimes for internal teams to enhance the understanding of our products and solutions
- Provide support and services to customers or other staff members regarding the use, operation, and maintenance of equipment
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers, understand their evolving security needs and ensure their satisfaction with implemented solutions
- Perform other duties as assigned
**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelor's degree (Preferred, not a must) in Computer Science, Electronics, Science and Engineering, or any related specialization
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in security system design specialization and technical support
- 2 years of relevant experience in IP (network) CCTV product
- Must have experiences in surveillance, IP camera, NVRs and DVRs, access control and intercom systems, electronics equipment and network equipment related industry
- Experience dealing with Cloud solution is a plus
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- Self-motivated with a proven track record in CCTV, access control and intercom systems, computer network
- Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base
- Must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing
- Organized and analytical, able to remove sales obstacles through creative and adaptive technical approaches
- Strong knowledge of core technical and solution concepts
- Demonstrated success and leadership in project management
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to attain business objectives
- Advanced PC skills to include MS Office and MS Project
- Must be available for travels in the province of Ontario region on a monthly basis, occasional travels within Canada might occur
- Chinese speaking is a plus
