Equity Research Associate - Consumer/Associé, Biens de consommation, Recherche sur actions

**What is the opportunity?**

Your primary focus will be to support the Canadian Consumer Analyst by providing fundamental analysis of companies in the consumer staples and consumer discretionary sectors.

**What will you do?**
- Develop and enhance detailed company specific and industry macro financial models
- Maintain and develop sector specific databases and presentations
- Maintain relationships with coverage companies, investors and others internally within Capital Markets
- Analyze financial statements, company specific information and industry specific data
- Collaborate on writing research notes and sector reports

**What do you need to succeed?**

**Must-have**:

- An undergraduate degree with a focus on finance/business/economics or engineering, notably management or industrial engineering
- A CA/CMA, MBA, CFA designation or CFA exam enrollment is preferred
- Strong writing capabilities
- Strong computer skills (Excel) with ability to quickly learn new platforms
- Detail oriented with solid analytical skills and ability to synthesize data points into trends beyond the mainstream
- Curious, energetic, self-motivated and an ability to perform under pressure and meet time sensitive deadlines, sometimes for extended periods of time
- Process oriented with the ability to learn quickly on the job
- Demonstrated passion for equity/financial analysis
- English: Required to communicate with teams located across Canada.

**Nice-to-have**:
Previous experience in Capital Markets, Research or Retail/Supply Chain an asset

- Élaborer et améliorer des modèles financiers détaillés propres aux entreprises et aux secteurs.
- Créer et mettre à jour des bases de données et des présentations propres aux secteurs.
- Maintenir des relations avec des sociétés de couverture, des investisseurs et d’autres partenaires au sein de Marchés des capitaux.
- Analyser des états financiers, des renseignements propres aux sociétés et des données propres aux secteurs.
- Collaborer à la rédaction de notes de recherche et de rapports sectoriels.
