The Journeyperson Fitters key responsibilities are to layout, assemble, fabricate,

maintain and repair piping systems. Accurate and timely completion of assigned

tasks is an integral part of the work. The Journeyperson Fitter may also perform

duties within his/her capabilities in addition to those identified in this job description.

He/she must work well alone or in a team environment and provide analyses/recommendations directly to their direct supervisor.

**Main Duties**:

- Read and interprets client and company supplied blueprints, diagrams and

schematic drawings to determine work procedures
- Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair piping systems
- Install fabricated pipe spools within structural steel modular

assemblies adding design supports as needed
- Maintain all tools, work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion
- Make detailed sketches for equipment fabrication
- Cut openings for pipe using various hand and power tools
- Measuring, cutting with blades and torches, threading, grooving, bending,

welding, assembling mitering, joining and installing pipes,

valves and fittings
- Encourage and instruct apprentices as required
- Record hours and materials on timecards to satisfy Payroll/QA requirements
- Provide quality work in a timely and efficient manner
- Other duties within the incumbent’s capabilities as required
