A career in ESG and sustainable finance in the Commercial Banking sector of the National Bank means advancing the integration of ESG and promoting sustainable economic growth. As an ESG Intern, you will support our medium and large business clients in their needs and ambitions to advance their journey towards sustainability.

**Your job**

Depending on your skills and interests, you could contribute to the following tasks:

- Monitor and analyze ESG trends and emerging topics, such as climate change, net zero, sustainable development goals, biodiversity, emerging markets, impact investing, etc.
- Contribute to the development of the portfolio of sustainable finance strategies to support all of our clients and prospects in achieving their sustainability objectives
- Participate in the development of reference frameworks in the development of financial products (green, social, sustainable, transition, sustainability-related) for a wide range of commercial and public sector clients
- Participate in the mapping of the different processes that the ESG team tries to establish with the different teams at the Bank
- Creation and updating of SharePoint sites and ESG documents such as user guides, taxonomies, reference frameworks, etc.

**Your schedule**

Your work schedule will be 37.5 hours per week and for an internship duration of 3 to 4 months. Your presence in the office is required a minimum of 40% of your time per week. The internship will take place in Montreal.

**Your team**

The Commercial Banking sector supports corporate clients operating in a wide variety of sectors. The ESG team, located within Sales Strategy and Efficacy, develops and governs sustainable financing products, equips and supports the sales force to better serve our customers, and certifies transaction sustainability compliance.

As an intern, you are part of the ESG - Commercial Banking team and you collaborate on a daily basis with 4 people.

**Prerequisites**
- Interest in issues related to ESG and sustainable finance
- Currently working towards a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (in business administration, economics, finance, sustainable development, law or any other related field)
- Excellent knowledge of the Office suite
- Be comfortable working in a complex and rapidly changing environment
- Strong work ethic and passion for sustainability
