Reintegration Support Worker for Indigenous

**Position Overview**:
Support services are needed to assist in the reintegration of Indigenous offenders who are releasing from federal correctional facilities into urban centres.
Location
- Winnipeg, MBJob Type
- Part Time**Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for providing health, wellness, life skills training and/or counselling to Indigenous clients prior to release.
- Ensuring that clients have the services they need to reintegrate into the community.
- Supporting Indigenous clients releasing from correctional facilities to disaffiliate from gangs by supporting cultural identity training or counselling.
**Qualifications**:
- Two years experience within the last four year providing cultural identity training or counselling with a focus on promoting gang disaffiliation OR two years experience within the last four years providing health wellness or life skills training or counselling to Indigenous people in a group or individual setting
- Ability to effectively identify problems and offer appropriate resources, referrals, and information to assist the individual in resolving the crisis
- Strong knowledge of appropriate mental health, addiction, problem gaming/gambling and other community resources for system navigation and referral
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively and efficiently navigate multiple computer systems
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
**Additional Requirements**:
- You will be able to obtain a Federal Security Clearance
