**Job Summary**

The Outreach Supervisor is accountable for the daily operations of the UBCM Outreach Team and ensures that operational and quality standards are always maintained. Works to ensure a safe, well maintained, and healthy environment. This position also works with community partners and other organizations within the Tri-Cities and is accountable for community support and engagement, as well as statistics collection

**Organizational Status**

The Phoenix Society is a multi-service agency located in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia dedicated to providing accessible services and opportunities to people who face barriers related to addiction, mental health, housing, education, criminal justice involvement and/or employment.

**Work Performed**:
**Risk Management**
- Ensures the health and safety of all residents.
- Takes lead role in incident management and reporting.
- Acts as an OHS member.

**Staff Supervision**
- Provides supervision, direction, coaching and assistance to Outreach staff in the completion of daily operating tasks and routines.
- Orients, trains, supervises, and evaluates new employees on shift responsibilities and routines and reports to supervisory position.
- Motivates staff team to maintain and exceed agency work standards. This position does not involve hiring, firing, or disciplining employees.
- Ensures that all documentation for outreach tasks, responsibilities and routines are completed.
- Establish and maintain appropriate community partnerships within the Tri-Cities.
- Provides supervision and engages in ongoing case management and community outreach services.
- Maintain accurate statistics throughout practice and provide bi-monthly reports.
- Reports to and discusses case concerns with supervisory positions and the integrated services team.
- Provide support for clients to develop life skills and support community engagement.
- Performs other tasks and duties as required.

**Client Support**
- Role Modeling-Acts as a positive role model for clients. Teaches clients effective social and interpersonal skills through tasks of appropriate daily living and social activities.
- Provides ongoing support and improved coordination for access to services for homeless and vulnerable individuals within the Tri-Cities
- Environmental Support - Contributes to maintaining a therapeutic environment following therapeutic community principles which encourage awareness of inter-dependence of community members, and the value of responsible concern for self and others.
- Actively collaborates with other service providers and external stakeholders within the Tri-Cities.

**Qualifications**
- Position requires a 2-year post-secondary diploma. Preference given to those with a degree in a relevant discipline such as social services community services, etc., or equivalent
- 3+ years of Outreach experience working with marginalized populations, substance use services, mental health, corrections, etc., or equivalent.
- Ability to demonstrate strong personal leadership skills.
- Experience in a non-profit setting is an asset.
- Satisfactory completion of a criminal records check with vulnerable sector screening is required
- Satisfactory completion of Tuberculosis Screening form is required.
- Satisfactory completion of Employee Immunization Record form is required.
- First aid certification with CPR is required.
- Valid driver’s license is required.

**Skills & Knowledge**
- Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and database management systems
- Knowledge of and ability to operate standard office equipment, including telephone system, fax machine, photocopier, printer, and computerized building security monitoring system.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
- Strong problem solving, analytical, and creative skills with the ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English
- Demonstrated commitment to the social sector with a passion for the organization’s mission is essential
