The John Howard Society of Okanagan and Kootenay are seeking to fill the SUPPORT WORKER: OUTREACH

**DEPARTMENT**: Outreach Services

**DIVISION**: Outreach Programs Kelowna

**LOCATIONS**: Kelowna - BC

**STATUS**: Permanent. Various shifts available: casual, part time and full time.

**COMPENSATION**: $21.53 - 24.98/ hour + $1.00 shift premium 12am-8am

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Complete duties in accordance with organizational and/or program policies, as well as the mission, ethics, values and constitution of the Society
- Recognize analyze, and deal with potential emergencies to ensure no harm comes to the client and/or the public
- Assist with case management
- Work collaboratively with clients to determine service delivery goals.
- Oversee Overdose Prevention Services, intervene and administer Naloxone in event of overdose
- Transport and assist clients to appointments, shopping, or outreach activities
- Provide documentation as per program policy (CAMS, etc.)
- Monitor building ensuring only those allowed gain access
- Assistance with activities of daily living (ADL). This can involve, but is not limited to, meeting professional appointments, budgeting, shopping, and basic cooking/meal planning assistance

*Other duties as assigned by the Managers.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

We are seeking a highly motived individuals with a proven ability to work within a fast-paced growth
- A certificate, degree or diploma in a related human/social service field
- One year of recent and related experience
- Level 1 First Aid
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the role
- Must be able to clear a Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector
- Proof of COVID-19 immunization is a requirement
- Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract and access to vehicle to use during work hours (only required for some positions)

*A combination of education and experience may be considered relevant to expectations of this position

**Salary**: $21.53-$24.98 per hour
