**Job Summary**

The Manager, Fund Development & Communications leads implementation of agency fundraising, marketing, and communications. It is responsible for raising the agency’s profile with the public, engaging donors, and ensuring all fundraising targets and responsibilities are met. It develops and implements operational and quality assurance plans, and is responsible for achieving the team’s Key Performance Indicators. As part of the management and leadership team, the Manager is contributes to the overall stewardship and success of the organization.

**Key Responsibilities**

**_ General _**_Fund Devel_**_opment _**Help donors achieve their philanthropic goals and ambitions through a relationship with the agency. Manage the agency’s overall fund development plan, ensuring annual fundraising targets and metrics are met. Ensure agency policies and procedures are followed, and fundraising activities, including donor appeals and charitable tax receipting, follow all Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) guidelines. Provide support for the Board Fundraising Committee, including regular reporting and identification of strategic issues for committee discussion. Prepare cases for support, presentations, and other materials to support donor engagement.

Review and update internal policies and procedures.

**_ Donor Relations _**Build and manage a portfolio of donors, with a focus on donors at the $1,000 or above level or with significant giving potential. Engage and support executive and board leadership in fundraising.

**_ General _**_Marketing and Communications _**Manage the agency’s marketing and communications plans and ensure objectives and metrics are met. Develop and implement marketing and communications plans for specific programs, events, and initiatives. Identify opportunities to raise awareness about the agency’s programs and initiatives.

**_ Media Relations _**Serve as a primary contact point for media inquiries, and lead active outreach to media. Provide training and coaching for agency spokespersons.

**_ Marketing _**Ensure agency programs and activities are promoted in a way to meet participation targets and reach persons with lived experience. Ensure brand guidelines and standards are followed. Oversee social media, web, and other electronic communications, and the production of printed materials.

**_ Communications_**

Develop key messages and strategies. Provide strategic advice to executive and board leadership. Identify, manage, and respond to public relations risks that may arise. Oversee agency internal communications.

**_ Leadership _**Develop, monitor, and implement program operational and quality assurance plans. Day-to-day management of fund development and marketing and communications programs and activities, including staff supervision: Fund Development Coordinator, Marketing & Communications Coordinator and Communications & Development Coordinator. Serve as a primary contact point and supervisor for vendors, consultants, and other external support. Actively participate in agency Management and Leadership Meetings. Support and participate as required in Board Fundraising Committee meetings and activities. Manage annual and project-specific budgets.

**_ Additional Duties _**Other duties may be required from time to time.

**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary degree or diploma, or equivalent education and experience. Education in communications, marketing, or commerce is an asset.
- A minimum of five years in progressive roles, including previous management experience, is preferred.
- Previous experience in marketing and communications and/or fundraising, or roles with transferrable skills such as sales.
- An ability to think critically and strategically.
- An appreciation for good visual design.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to build and manage relationships.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention and appreciation for donor confidentiality.
- Ability to work with persons with lived experience, and an appreciation for their life experience and perspective.
