Derksen Plumbing and Heating (1984) Ltd is a family-owned and operated business which has provided exceptional plumbing and heating services to the City of Winnipeg for over 50 years.

We are looking for a BIM Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our BIM Department.

**SUMMARY**:
Responsible for the operations of the BIM department and personnel. Ensures efficient and accurate creation of 3D models and corresponding fabrication.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES **include the following (other duties may be assigned):

- Ensuring that the BIM team meets deadlines including but not limited to, coordination of models/drawings, spool sheets for the fabrication department and installation of the drawing to site.
- Responsible for ensuring model integrity and ensuring the content is constructable.
- Supervise day-to-day operations and efficiency of the BIM department.
- Oversee and improve the modelling process with respect to accuracy, speed and efficiency. Including the creation and updating of standard procedures.
- Schedule work based on the project construction schedule
- Determine the priority of work to be completed based on existing and future work.
- Determine the BIM department staff requirements & manage to meet workload requirements
- Provide time estimate for the completion of potential and current modelling requirement(s) of a project including changes
- Effectively resolve fabrication and construction problems/issues brought forward.
- Interpretation of modelling scope based on contract documents.
- Review construction drawings for inconsistencies, error and omissions as it relates to scope of modelling
- Assist modelers to determine constructible solution with respect to space constraints found during model completion
- Asses and review the software requirements for the BIM department
- Assess problems and/or issues brought up by the fabrication team, construction and /or project managers, and work to solve them in a cost effective manner.
- Review applicable technology and software for the use in the modelling process.
- Occasionally assist staff in the fabrication shop with material handling.
- Responsible for overseeing BIM employee(s) safety and department cleanliness.
- Occasionally visit construction sites to obtain dimensions for modelling, resolve constructability issues or confirm model accuracy.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From $60,000.00 per year

**Experience**:

- Revit/RevitMEP: 1 year (required)
