Dr. Smita Pakhale and her team are involved in clinical research to improve quality of life, focusing on health equity. There are multiple CIHR and PHAC-funded projects on tobacco dependence inequity, anti-racism, COVID-19 Impact, and the social determinants of health, asthma, sickle cell disease, cystic fibrosis, COPD, and many other tobacco-related diseases.

This research/operations post is linked to our community research center located in Vanier, Ottawa where we conduct Community-Based Participatory Action Research (CBPAR) in true partnership with people who self-identify as homeless, at-risk for homelessness, low income, and racialized including Indigenous populations. It involves collaborations with multi-disciplinary scientists, community members, peer researchers from the community, allied healthcare disciplines, and collaborations with teams from across Canada, the US, Europe, and India. The successful applicant will play a key role in developing, implementing, and evaluating the downtown Community-Based Participatory Action Research projects.

**Expected Responsibilities**
This position would appeal especially to someone who has experience in Community-Based Participatory Action Research (CBPAR). Primary duties will include conducting quantitative analysis for all ongoing studies and developing presentations and workshop materials for broader network capacity building. There would also be the opportunity to present at local, national, and international conferences, lead published peer-reviewed outputs and supervise junior trainees.

**Basic Requirements (Education/Experience)**:

- BSc in Epidemiology, Health Sciences, or related field
- Strong interpersonal skills in-person and virtual
- Demonstrated flexibility, sound judgment, initiative & creativity
- Familiarity with the development of clinical practice guidelines
- Demonstrated skills and experience in conducting quantitative analysis
- Respects and values the diversity of communities and individuals
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy of data and protocol requirements
- Time management skills and ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
- Flexibility to accommodate periodic demanding deadlines
- Evidence of training certification in Tri-Council Policy Statement -2 (TCPS-2) and the International Conference on Harmonisation — Good Clinical Practice Guidelines (ICH-GCP) or a commitment to acquire upon being hired.
- Strong quantitative and data analysis skills using R, STATA, SPSS, Qualtrics, SAS

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Completed Masters or Ph.D. in epidemiology, public health, social sciences, knowledge translation, implementation science, health services research, health or organizational psychology, behavioral medicine, behavioral science, applied psychology, data science, and related fields
- Strong qualitative data analysis skills using qualitative software (e.g., NVIVO)
- Experience with clinical practice guideline development, dissemination, and implementation approaches
- Experience in implementation intervention development (identification of barriers/enablers and selecting and operationalizing implementation strategies) and/or evaluation (including implementation trials and/or process evaluation)
- Experience in a health research environment

**Contract Details**:
This is a Full-time, 1-year contract position with the possibility of renewal.

**Salary**: Min: $27.964 to Max.$ 37.935
