Warden Woods is non-profit charitable organization that has been building caring, compassionate, equitable, and interdependent communities in southwest Scarborough for over
50 years.

Our programs and services operate across 5-8 sites within southwest Scarborough, with varying ownership structures and maintenance obligations. Our main centre is a large building surrounded by large grounds and a parking lot, originally a church, which was erected in 1970 at
Warden & St. Clair.

**Position Summary**

Reporting to and working in close collaboration with the Executive Director, the Project
Manager
- Facilities will be responsible for ensuring all the main systems within our scope of responsibility are functioning and well-maintained.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure building systems and properties agency-wide are functioning and well
- maintained to support safe, effective safe operations every day all year, in compliance with all relevant laws, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Develop and manage short term and long-term preventative maintenance plans across sites
- Assess building systems and maintenance issues, determine and execute required courses of action including engaging external trades when necessary, according to agency processes and policies.
- Maintain an internal work order system; review work orders to determine materials, services, equipment and time required, and prepare purchase orders with budget approvals
- Perform and/or ensure performance of periodic checks of systems and sites, including pressure gauges, pumps, boilers, air handling units, water storage tanks, electrical panels, fire equipment and hose cabinets, with a licensed tradesperson, as required by law and according to agency policies
- Manage physical plant emergencies and support appropriate responses to safety and security concerns as they arise
- Maintain and implement all aspects of the Fire Safety plans across sites as required
- Oversee renovations, refurbishments, and office relocations as required
- Undertake building and grounds maintenance
- Manage waste disposal systems across sites as needed
- Perform basic repairs on fixtures and appliances, with a licensed tradesperson as required
- Manage parking facilities as required
- Prepare periodic reports as requested to ensure systems and sites are functional and well-maintained
- Support cleaning efforts as required
- Complete incident reports as necessary

**Qualifications**:

- 5-7 years' experience and demonstrated knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, and heating/ventilation systems.
- Technical training in building maintenance, Community College diploma or University

Degree in Property/Facilities Management or related field.
- At least 2 years' experience in Facilities Management, preferably in a community setting or related field.
- Ability to work on ladders and use a variety of handheld tools
- Ability to lift 25 kilograms
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
- Understanding of health and safety regulations, AODA and WHIMS
- Knowledge of local contractors and proper quoting processes
- Familiarity with buildings built in the 70s is a definite asset
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 360, Outlook, and property management data bases
- Valid Class-G driver's license in good standing and regular access to a personal vehicle required (mileage provided to cover gas and percentage of vehicle wear/tear)
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

**Compensation and Hours of Work**:

- $50,000 salaried compensation
- 21 hours per week required, divided between 3 weekdays
- Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends as required
- Ability to respond to site emergencies as required
