**Job Summary**:
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Conduct in-person reviews of Administrative Penalties
- Conduct reviews of Administrative Penalties by way of written submissions provided electronically
- Provide clear written decisions setting out the reasons for varying, affirming or cancelling the Administrative Penalty
- Educate and provide information to the public concerning City by-laws, policies, regulations and the Administrative Penalty System (APS) process and procedures.
- Participate in projects and initiatives.
- Communicate using a variety of conflict resolution strategies.
- Act with integrity and honesty and ensure procedural fairness.
- Exercise decision-making authority and discretion fairly and reasonably and in accordance with the law.
- Participate in and provide training and mentoring as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
**Skills and Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related discipline (ie. Paralegal Studies, Court and Tribunal Agent Program or Law Clerk) and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge and experience in administrative law, adjudicative processes, including conducting hearings in a tribunal setting.
- Possesses strong analytical skills and keen critical thinking
- Interpersonal skills to foster communication, collaboration and positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- In-depth working knowledge of relevant City by-laws, legislation and regulations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment while serving the public.
Hourly Rate/Salary: $ 65,753.00 - $ 87,671.00
Hours of Work: 35
