Applications are invited for the position of Benefits and Pension Specialist in the Human Resources Division, located at the Welland Campus. The salary range is $68,911 to $86,140 for a 35-hour work week. Additional hours may be required as necessary.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Administering, maintaining and implementing policies, practices, collective agreements and terms and conditions of employment relating to benefits and pension administration for all groups of the college
- Ensuring pertinent communication regarding all changes of the pension plans and benefit plans is delivered to all employees and retirees
- Maintaining accurate records of all full-time and partial load new hires within the benefit and pension systems
- Advising and counselling employees on various events as they relate to benefits and pension, including; pension buy-backs, transfers, life events, life insurance claims, etc, and completing all necessary documentation and system updates
- Reporting and uploading data to Sunlife, conducting monthly payroll reconciliations and troubleshooting and resolving errors to ensure data integrity is maintained
- Advising new hires on benefit plans, optional insurances, open buyback and transfer options, and ensuring enrolment paperwork is processed and submitted to Sunlife and CAAT

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum three (3) year diploma/degree in Business, Human Resources or similar field of study
- Minimum five (5) years experience in a large organization with multiple benefit plans, preferably in a unionized environment
- Certified Human Resources Professional Designation (CHRP) is considered an asset
- Experience working with pension plans and retirees
- Advanced knowledge of HRIS systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
- Current knowledge of benefit and pension plans and legislation
