Mushroom Meadows is a vibrant, young agricultural business specializing in gourmet and medicinal mushrooms. Located in close proximity to the Greater Toronto Area, we pride ourselves on a farm-to-table approach, overseeing every stage of production from substrate preparation, inoculation, mycology / lab work, mushroom fruiting, and processing. Our goal is to be a model for young entrepreneurs in agriculture, demonstrating the viability of eco-friendly farming and contributing positively to our local ecosystem and economy.

Job Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic Mushroom Production Associate to join our team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about sustainable agriculture and eager to be part of a growing business. You will play a crucial role in various stages of mushroom cultivation, processing, and sales contributing to the quality products we offer to our customers and businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in all stages of mushroom production, including preparing substrates, inoculating, maintaining growing conditions, and harvesting.
- Process mushrooms for sale, including sorting, cleaning, and packaging.
- Help in the preparation and assembly of mushroom grow kits.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the growing and processing areas.
- Assist with the setup and operation of farmers' markets and other sales events.
- Participate in ongoing farm projects and initiatives to improve farm sales and operations. Construction, Continuous Improvement, Sales, Sustainability Practices, and Social Media knowledge and skills will be considered an asset.

Qualifications:

- Interest in agriculture, particularly mushroom cultivation.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various environmental conditions.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs routinely and ergonomically
- Team player with strong communication skills.
- Reliable and committed to high-quality standards.
- Previous experience in farming or horticulture is a plus, but not required.
- Ability and willingness to follow safety procedures
- First Aid training, not required, considered an asset
- Own vehicle or reliable vehicle access is required as public transit options are not available.

**Salary**: $17.00-$19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
