Scouts Canada has an exciting opportunity for a Program Specialist, Learning to Lead Program to join the Commercial Ventures Team at Scouts Canada. Reporting to the Manager, Learning to Lead Program, you will be part of a team which supports Scouts Canada in creating memorable, fun, and safe training programs for youth aged 18+ to plan and execute youth programs in their local communities.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assisting in the overall design and execution of the Learn to Lead Program.
- Working within local communities to identify underserved areas and recruit young people to make a difference.
- Enabling programming that will increase Scouts Canada awareness and relationships in local communities.
- Ensuring the overall safety and program delivery to all youth enrolled in the program.
- Communicating with registrants pre-and-post participation to gather data on the success of the program.
- Provide administrative support regarding mailings, communication and program tool kit design and all aspects of program design and delivery.
- Liaise with all associated parties and stakeholders to ensure the Learn to Lead Program is positive and successful.
- Other duties as assigned.

What you bring to the table:

- Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience (Business, marketing, or recreational education is an asset)
- Minimum two years’ experience in recreational programming, hospitality, or education sector
- Expert knowledge of outdoor camping, experiences, and skills, including fire and environmental safety
- General knowledge of food services and food safety
- Possess a valid driver's license - able to provide a clean drivers abstract
- Standard First Aid and CPR (or ability to obtain)
- Proficient with MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both online and in person
- Knowledge of Scouts Canada, the Scouting program and its operation is an asset

Working Conditions
- Remote position with shift work required, including evenings and weekends
- Moderate travel required
- Some exposure to environmental conditions (rain, snow, heat and cold)
- Physical Demands such as moderate lifting, pushing, and pulling
- PRC (Police Record Check) and VSS (Vulnerable Sector Check) are required before the start date
- Mandatory training requirement

Salary depends on skills and experience. Starting salary for this role is $49,858.40.
