Gallery Assistant

POSITION: GALLERY ASSISTANT, SATURDAY, SUNDAY & MONDAY

Roles and responsibilities.
- Open and close gallery on weekends (and rarely, other days as needed).
- Help clients with sales of prints, cards, books, and original artworks.
- Assemble prints in their matts and frames.
- Package online orders for shipping.
- Work closely with Gallery Manager in updating Shopify website.
- Contribute to the creation of content for social media, i.e., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and Blog.
- Previous experience in a gallery or retail setting.
- Basic knowledge of the visual arts and the ability to discuss various mediums and works of art.
- Aptitude for sales. As a commercial gallery we are in the business of selling art.
- Attention to detail. We produce prints in house that need to be matted, framed, and presented in a clean and professional way.
- An enthusiastic and positive attitude will be required while working with collectors, artists, and other team members.

The position will be based in the gallery, primarily Saturday, Sunday and Monday, 5.5-hour afternoon shifts, 16.5 hours weekly (possibility of additional hours). Salary is $18 per hour. Start date is April 15, 2023.
