Asset and Logistics Assistant
100% Term Assignment to October 30, 2024
Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week (12 Month Work Year)
**Location**: 1224 Stittsville Main Street (Stittsville Depot)
**ESP Level 7**: $48,803 to $62,947 per annum
Under the supervision of the Team Manager of Supply Chain Management and the functional direction of the Asset and Logistics Administrator, the Asset and Logistics Assistant is responsible for assisting with the tracking, inventory and movement of Board Assets between and within the facilities of the Board. Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Coordinating moves and planning for the number of movers required for specific projects
Directing contract movers (provide instruction, monitor breaks, ensure safety requirements are met, etc.)
Preparing journal entries for schools and departments with respect to logistic services
Managing inventory database for all furniture and equipment
Coordinating the table and chair booking/loaner program
Maintaining storage facilities in a neat, orderly and safe fashion.
Traveling to school sites to perform asset inventory of portables to be moved prior to leaving the existing sites.
Assists with on-line auction of surplus furniture by posting items for sale, scheduling viewings and pick up of items.
**Qualifications**:
Certificate in Supply Chain Management or Assets & Logistics, and minimum of three (3) years of experience in assets and logistics and/or warehouse experience. An equivalent combination of education & experience may also be considered.
Knowledge of Board administrative policies, procedures and guidelines, particularly with respect to surplus and obsolete furniture and equipment and asset management.
Strong knowledge of the techniques of asset management and logistics services.
Good understanding of inventory management, life cycle analysis, and surplus and disposal procedures.
Interpersonal and Communication skills required to provide a high level of customer service to schools, contractors, and suppliers. Ability to use tact and diplomacy in all interactions.
Organization and Time management skills required for coordinating moves, arranging for contractors/movers, and dealing with multiple deadlines.
Ability to deal with unexpected changes, and resolve problems.
Ability to operate forklifts, hand trucks and hand carts would be an asset.
Access to reliable transportation required to visit school sites.
