The Opportunity
**In this role you will**:
- Track active inbound shipments, negotiate rates, manage quotes.
- Maintains and updates databases related to logistics.
- Ensures containers counts are accurate and aligned within the organization; collects necessary documentation, validates counts with cross-functional teams (such as Supply Chain, and or Product Development), and communicates counts to external suppliers and key stakeholders.
- Monitor market rates and trends in the various inbound modes (sea, air, etc)
- Support annual Sea RFQ process as required to ensure successful benchmarking and contract renewals.
- Ensure compliance with applicable customs and regulatory requirements, international trade directives, tariffs and guidelines.
- Proactively communicate with internal stakeholders to address issues, promote seamless business operations, and meet customer expectations.
- Performs other job duties as required, including backup coverage for co-workers during employee vacations and ad-hoc absences.
What You Need
- One-three years of experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Customs.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Experience with overseas freight forwarders and the containers moving process is a requirement for this position.
- Global customs compliance experience is an asset.
- Intermediate user of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize and balance competing demands to meet deadlines.
- Proactive, organized and detail-oriented with the ability to work independently.
- Personable and self-starter with the ability to engage and collaborate with cross-functional teams, with an end result of driving forward various projects.
- Ability to prioritize and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Energetic, resourceful, and known for a positive, “can-do” attitude.
- Ability to work flexible hours as required, to accommodate the various time zones between our clients' operational facilities.
