**Position Description**:
As part of its SickKids 2025 Strategic Plan, The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) is embarking on a journey to reimagine how we can deliver precision-based medical care using integrated data about each patient and their family through Precision Child Health (PCH). In support of this vision, a significant multi-year transformation of clinical research at SickKids will be undertaken to ensure that every SickKids patient and family can participate in and benefit from research.

The Communications Advisor will be responsible for developing and executing internal communication plans that promote awareness, understanding and engagement of Clinical Research Services (CRS) transformation and initiatives across SickKids. Reporting to the Manager, Communications (Research Institute & Strategic Initiatives), this new position will join the dynamic Communications & Public Affairs team and work on a day-to-day basis with leadership and staff from CRS and PCH.

**Here's What You'll Get to Do**
- Work with leaders and staff to support the development and execution of internal communications strategies and plans;
- Work with diverse groups to identify and clearly communicate innovative research and initiatives related to CRS and PCH;
- Develop and edit content for a variety of channels and styles, including internal marketing materials, intranet, stories, newsletters, presentation decks, and web and social content;
- Support content for, and design and enhancement of, internal SharePoint websites;
- Support the day-to-day execution of communication activities and report on progress through standardized metrics;
- Lead in the planning and execution for internal CRS-related events (e.g, Clinical Research Excellence Week); and
- Support Communications & Public Affairs and CRS with ad hoc communications requests.

**Here's What You'll Need**

**Essential requirements**:

- Degree/diploma or relevant experience in Communications, Journalism, or related area.
- Two to three years of progressive communications experience, including content development and writing for different audience and channels.
- Experience with and working knowledge of Mailchimp and Microsoft SharePoint.
- Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills, with ability to plain language complex concepts.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail, initiative, professional demeanor, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusivity.

**Assets**:

- Experience in clinical research, health care or academic research environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of web and user interface design is an asset.
- Knowledge of image editing tools like Canva or Adobe Photoshop is an asset.

**Employment Type: 1.0 FTE (35 hours/week for 2-year contract)**
