Vaughan, Canada GFL Environmental Inc. Full time

The Capital Analyst is responsible for analyzing, managing, and coordinating capital investments and expenses within the environmental services division. They will work closely with the SVP, Operations to ensure effective allocation of resources and successful implementation of capital projects. The Capital Analyst will provide financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making and drive operational excellence within the division.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Capital Budgeting: Collaborate with the SVP of Operations to develop and manage the annual capital budget, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and strategic plans.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis to evaluate the financial viability and return on investment of proposed capital projects.
- Investment Tracking: Monitor and track ongoing capital expenditures, ensuring adherence to budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and mitigating financial risks.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on capital expenditure progress, variance analysis, and financial performance for review and presentation to senior management.
- Risk Management: Identify potential financial risks associated with capital investments and develop strategies to mitigate and manage these risks.
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to negotiate contracts, manage project timelines, and ensure compliance with budgetary constraints.
- Capital Project Evaluation: Evaluate proposed capital projects for technical and financial feasibility, providing recommendations to senior management based on thorough analysis.
- Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities to improve capital expenditure processes, systems, and reporting capabilities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including finance, operations to gather relevant data and ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
- Compliance and Regulation: Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and compliance requirements related to capital investments.
