The Lambton County Archives is the archival centre for genealogical and local history research in the County of Lambton. We preserve and make accessible historical and family documents for researchers. The Archives is located south of Highway 402 in Wyoming. Position Overview
The Online Resources Communications Student is responsible for the creation of online content and resources found on the Lambton County Archives, Lambton Heritage Museum and Oil Museum of Canada website. The primary objective of this position is to digitize archival materials, exhibits and collections items to be used in the online space. The incumbent will work using iCreate software to update, create and design pages within the website that comply with branding standards. The student will also use Adobe Creative Suite software, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, to watermark images and design graphics to support the webpages.

**Responsibilities**:
1. Assist communications staff in the development of online resources through the website for archival materials, exhibits and collections items.
2. Digitization of historic images and artifacts for use in online exhibits, blog posts and other website pages.
3. Create, edit and design webpages using iCreate software.
4. Transcribe collections items to be used in a digital format.
5. Insert watermarks on images to protect the copyright of collection items.
6. Create graphics to support the branding and corporate standards of online exhibits and collections.
7. Identify opportunities for online engagement within the functionality of the website.

**Qualifications**:

- be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, or have refugee status in Canada.

**Note**: Non-Canadian students or graduates holding temporary work visas or awaiting permanent status are not eligible.
- be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- be between 16 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.
- have finished the school term at the start of employment.
- meet the specific eligibility criteria of the program to which you apply.
- be willing to commit to the full duration of the work assignment.
- not have another full-time job (over 30 hours a week) while employed with YCW.
- have been a full-time student (as defined by his or her educational institution) in the semester preceding the YCW job.
- intend to return to full-time studies in the semester following the YCW job.
