**Deputy Project Director, Cernavoda ¾**

The Deputy Project Director, Cernavoda 3/4 (DPD-C34) will report to the Project Director, Cernavoda 3/4. The DPD-C34 will be the key project representative responsible for overseeing the provision of contract deliverables for Cernavoda 3/4. The DPD-C34 will strategically plan, then execute, a program to complete the preliminary engineering for the Nuclear Island. The DPD-C34 will be responsible for contract development, leading negotiations, including scope & change control, requirements management, subcontractor and supplier management and governance for any flow-down requirements from the parent contract to subs and vendors.

This role will require leadership of project team members, including a project delivery team and includes interfacing with key internal stakeholders. A deputy project director is expected to have significant experience in project delivery and project execution methodology including an understanding of engineering, procurement, construction, contract management and project controls principles. Leading large teams is an equally important skill; developing and building a large team of professionals is a requirement of this role.

A third pillar of this role is the ability to manage complex stakeholder (internal and external) interactions as required, including partners, vendors, and client. Behaviors within a complex contracting model are key to this role’s success, and the applicant is expected to represent both AtkinsRéalis’ interests as well as ensuring the overall completion of the project on time and on budget, with special focus on Nuclear safety.

**Your role within the team**:

- **_ Project Planning and Scope Definition:_**

Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Define the project scope and deliverables in compliance with contract documents and client requirements.
- **_ Team Leadership and Coordination:_**

Assemble and lead a multidisciplinary project team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among engineers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- **_ People Management:_**

Maintain supervisory org. and mange career development of assigned project resources to the betterment of the individuals, the project and the business. Assemble a project team through recruiting, interviewing and/or selecting staff with appropriate skills and establishing training and development programs suitable for the work. This generally requires close coordination with functional managers from various functions (engineering, project controls, safety, quality etc.). Make effective decisions / recommendations on human resource issues, work closely with Labour Relations as required to effectively resolve work performance issues within the project.

Ensure adherence to safety standards and quality requirements. Develop and enforce safety programs, training, and corrective action plans to maintain high performance standards.
- **_ Performance Monitoring and Reporting: _**
- **_ Procurement and Supply Chain Management: _**

Responsible for all contract management including scope & change control, requirements management, subcontractor and supplier management and governance for any flow-down requirements from the parent contract to subs and vendors.
- **_ Stakeholder Communication: _**

Serve as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure effective communication and coordination to keep all parties informed and aligned with project goals. Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, suppliers and other project stakeholders.
- **_ Ethical and Regulatory Compliance: _**

Ensure all project activities comply with corporate standards of ethical conduct, cyber-security, import-export regulations, intellectual property protections, and security clearance protocols.
- **_ Nuclear Safety: _**

Accountable for all aspects of nuclear and industrial safety including adherence with corporate and customer safety programs, development and enforcement of necessary training and requirements, adherence to corrective action programs and enforcement of performance standards for all of the above.
