**What can I expect to do in this role?**: As Program Coordinator, you will:

- provide strategic advice on program development and investment opportunities
- plan and conduct complex research projects and provide advice on funding priorities, strategies, policies and programs
- analyze and provide input on policy and program issues related to investment
- develop partnerships with a variety of stakeholders and provide technical advice on NOHFC policy, programs and initiatives
- prepare and oversee the completion of reports, briefing materials, presentations and news releases

**How do I qualify?**:
**Specialized knowledge**:

- You have in-depth knowledge of economic development theory, planning, regional economics and multi-dimensional economic/statistical research normally acquired through a solid academic background with a specialization in economics, commerce, finance or business administration.
- You have knowledge of Northern Ontario economic sectors and an understanding of relevant sectors (e.g. tourism, mining, forestry, biotechnology, and/or health and social development).
- You have the ability to acquire and interpret NOHFC programs, policies and procedures and government decision-making processes to make funding recommendations to decision makers.

**Research, analytical, evaluating and problem-solving skills**:

- You are able to design and carry out complex research projects and economic impact studies.

**Project management skills**:

- You have knowledge of project management practices and principles.
- You have planning, organizing and time management skills to effectively carry out multi-assignments with tight deadlines.

**Communication and people skills**:

- You can consult with and deal tactfully and diplomatically with a diverse group of stakeholders in a public funding environment that is complex and high profile.
- You have demonstrated communication skills to consult/liaise with various levels of government, community, private and public stakeholders and to conduct presentations at information sessions.
- You have experience developing a variety of written products (e.g. briefing notes, correspondence and reports).

**Computer skills**:

- You have knowledge of computers and software (word processing, spreadsheet, presentation packages, statistical databases and internet) to conduct research and coordinate projects.
