**Your opportunity**:
The Black Research Network (BRN) was launched as a University of Toronto Institutional Strategic Initiative to promote Black excellence at U of T and to enhance the research capacity of Black scholars within the university and on the world stage. This includes increasing the visibility of Black scholars' research accomplishments by sustaining a cross-divisional, interdisciplinary network of Black scholars and facilitating robust research engagement across the University of Toronto and internationally. The BRN includes U of T Black-identified faculty (research and teaching stream), librarians, postdoctoral fellows, graduate and undergraduate students. The BRN envisions deep connections with Black communities outside of U of T, and also holds space for non-Black colleagues committed to addressing anti-black racism to work alongside BRN members to achieve the goals of the network.
Working under the supervision of the BRN Program Lead and with the general direction of the Academic Director of the Initiative, the Project Manager will support the planning and implementaton of BRN initiatives, keep track of key milestones, coordinate project logistics and provide administrative suport to improve efficiency of processes.
**Your responsibilities will include**:
- Developing overall project design
- Developing charter, scope, resources and schedule for project(s)
- Planning and implementing project phases
- Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
- Handling complex and/or sensitive information
- Reviewing and assessing requirements needed to meet project timelines
- Informing project leaders of issues and roadblocks
- Checking that assigned work completed meets expected standards
**Essential Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Six to seven years project management (leading, organizing and tracking the outcomes of complex and multi-stakeholder projects).
- Demonstrated strategic planning, change and project management skills.
- Experience building relationships with and providing expert consultation to a wide variety of stakeholders, both internal and external to the organization required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; excellent facilitation and presentation skills; strong consultative decision-making skills; strong organizational skills; proven project management skills; and an ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be knowledgeable of cultural protocols to appropriately engage and foster respectful, reciprocal, ongoing relationships with local Black communities and racialized communities.
