Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources Business Partner, the Human Resources Advisor provides human resources advice and support, including HR policies, procedures, and practices. The Human Resources Advisor is responsible for participating in human resource administration, onboarding, orientation, benefits administration, and ad hoc human resources projects.

General- Acts as the initial point of contact to assigned client groups for matters concerning day-to-day inquiries, onboarding, and escalates complex issues- Responsible for the coordination and administration of employee benefits- Ensures appropriate procedures, policies, forms, laws and other measures are adhered to- Works with external partners to ensure the smooth delivery of employee benefits- Consistently deliver exceptional customer service with an ability to resolve inquiries in an effective and timely manner- Creates and advises on administrative procedures and guidelines- Adress, validate and resolve employee and stakeholders’ queries- Navigate and comprehend the language of multiple collective agreements

Advice to Leaders- Provides consistent advice, assistance, and communication to leaders in matters of HR policies and procedures, compensation/benefits etc.- Provides oversight to ensure equitable treatment to all employees across division (ANB, EMP, NBHL, MHSNB)

Recruiting and Staffing- Ensures the orientation, the creating of employment contracts, transfer and hiring methods- Ensures fair and equitable hiring practices both by law, internal company policies and collective agreements- Ensures appropriate transfer procedures

Communication- Establishes and maintains effective and trusted working relationships with employees and stakeholders- Respond to questions and requests from employees and Third-Party Administrators

Education & Experience:
- Possess a post-secondary education with relevant education in Human Resources (Human Resources major, certificate, or diploma)- Have a minimum of two years’ experience in a Human Resources role, working in a unionized environment would be considered an asset- Chartered Professional in Human Resources designation is an asset

Knowledge & Skills:
- Demonstrates integrity and maintains high ethical standards- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence and guide others- Excellent problem solver, consistently exercises good judgment- Manage multiple projects with the ability to meet daily departmental expectations- Organized and proficient in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing work environment- Superior communication and presentation skills- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills- MS office proficiency and HRIS experience

Bilingualism is required for this position
