The West Coast is a beautiful place - and key to keeping it beautiful is managing our waste responsibly. With new options available for recycling and composting in Tofino, Ucluelet, Esowista, Ty-Histanis and hitac̓u and surrounding areas, we are on a mission to raise awareness and educate the public about how they can do their part.

It will involve planning and hosting information booths at community events, making presentations to schools and community groups, responding to questions from the public and providing content for updates (including social media posts, signs, newsletters content or other items).

**WHO YOU ARE**

Understanding/awareness of the ACRD’s solid waste program is a benefit, but can also be taught to the right person. There are some technical requirements too, such as:

- Ability to work varied hours that include daytime, evening and weekends.
- Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
- Valid BC Driver’s License and access to working vehicle.
- Ability to perform the duties of the position and work outdoors.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**
- Six-month contract term, from June-November 2023, with possibility to extend.
- 40 hrs/month (est. 10 hrs/week)
- Hourly rate: $25-35/hr, dependent on experience.
- Mileage paid separately at government rates.
