**Job Summary**:
As a Legal Counsel, you will work in collaboration with our Legal and management team. Legal Counsel advises internal teams on a broad spectrum of legal and business issues, including corporate governance, contractual commitments, compliance with applicable local, provincial, and federal laws governing the organization’s operations andindustry-specific compliance obligations, risk management, intellectual property rights, and employment and human resources matters.

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversees legal and regulatory research in support of business initiatives.
- Provide operational support for internal policies, communications, training, and education on company services and general governance.
- Review, negotiate, and draft commercial contracts, business agreements, policies,and conduct business and legal negotiations.
- Draft legal documents and prepare statements of legal opinion.
- Review company policies and ensure compliance with applicable legislative and regulatory requirements and government directives.
- Manage litigation matters and attend hearings as needed.
- Participates in cross-functional initiatives and projects, such as impact assessments related to new legislation, services, or products.
- Supports the rollout of programs developed in response to regulatory changes and facilitate the attendant education and training.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- Speak, write, and read English and Mandarin language fluently.
- J.D. or bachelor’s degree in law from an accredited institution.
- Licensed to practice law in Ontario or working towards it.
- 0-3 years of legal experience in private practice or in an in-house position.
- Ability to work on a broad range of legal topics and to adapt to changing priorities.
- Effective analytical, written, verbal, research, and communication skills.
- Results-oriented and client-focused.

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

- London, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
