Reporting to the Director, the Policy, Communications, and Legislative Support is responsible for a wide variety of duties to support the Policy and Communications Unit. This position provides administrative support for the team, such as records management and managing contracts and payments. This position coordinates the routing of fast turn-around briefing material and other information to support the Minister of Justice and the senior management team of the Department of Justice. During sittings of the Yukon Legislative Assembly, this position monitors the session's proceedings and identifies emerging issues. When the Legislative Assembly is not sitting, this position leads small projects in support of the work of the Policy and Communications Unit.

Essential Qualifications

Post-secondary coursework in office administration, political science, business or public administration, law, social sciences or related field.
Experience providing administrative support to senior management, including but not limited to: managing confidential documents, managing correspondence, and tracking financial/budgetary needs.
Experience with the Yukon Legislative Assembly's processes will be considered an asset.
Experience with justice-related issues will be considered an asset.
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Suitability
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Excellent organizational skills; and
Ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment with competing interests.
Job Requirements
Willingness to travel in the Yukon.
