Spend your March Break with our Discovery Day Camps Our camps are day camps for children ages 5 - 13. All camp staff strive to provide hands-on, environmental-based programs that suit the ages, needs, and interests of our participants.

As camp staff, you will lead hikes, games, and activities with your group as you go on daily explorations of our wetlands, fields, and forests. Our goal is to introduce provide a legendary guest experience by introducing children to a lifetime of respect and appreciation for the natural world that sustains us all.

This is a full-time contract position beginning March 13, 2023, and ending March 17, 2023, with an additional day for training prior to the start (March 11).

**Responsibilities**
- Plan, participate, and supervise children in educational camp activities
- Provide the necessary care for each child
- Act in a professional and courteous manner to all co-workers, volunteers, visitors, campers, and their families at all times
- Provide suggestions for program enhancement and following prescribed programs
- Obtain and develop learning materials/resources
- Assist with the daily upkeep of RBG Centre or the Nature Interpretive Centre
- Act as an ambassador; meet and greet the public, provide direction/ interpretation
- Provide written reports of activities or incidents when requested to attend staff meetings
- Attend all training sessions including pre-camp and evening training
- Complete incident reports when necessary
- Maintain client/camper confidentiality at all times

**Requirements**:

- Attending secondary or post-secondary institution or graduate, with studies preferably in education, recreational leadership, environmental science, or pure science
- Preference for applicants demonstrating experience working with children in a similar setting with an interest in environmental and outdoor education.
- Must have a First Aid Certificate, minimum level Standard First Aid with CPR-C
- Attend all pre-camp and in-camp training days as scheduled
