**Accounting & Payroll Administrator**

**OBJECTIVE**:
The Accounting and Payroll Administrator is responsible for processing and maintaining payroll systems and assisting with year-end tax forms and internal audits and administering daily activities relating to payroll and benefits processing.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process weekly and biweekly payrolls for hourly, salaried and temporary employees.
- Maintain and distribute daily, weekly and monthly labour related reporting as required
- Prepare and submit payroll and benefits deductions and remittances as necessary
- Prepare T4’s, ROE’s and various payroll reports as requested
- Administer employee benefit programs including enrollments and terminations
- Address benefit enquiries and ensure accurate and timely resolutions.
- Production reporting - Importing and reviewing hours daily from time and attendance systems and analyzing reporting issues
- General accounting duties - Back up for bank reconciliations, daily cash reporting, accounts payable and receivable vacations, Account reconciliations, General accounting assistance to V.P. Finance

**PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Post secondary payroll diploma or certificate and Certificate in accounting is an asset
- 5+ years experience in similar position
- Training in Jeeves is an asset
- Work in a union environment an asset
- Experience with ERP systems
- Experience with Ceridian or ADP an asset
- Ability to work without supervision
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
- Superb written and oral communication skills
- Ability to exercise tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information
