We are seeking an experienced Instructor with outstanding teaching contributions, a collaborative team member with a student-centered attitude. Reporting to the Academic Chair in Academic Upgrading, you will be responsible for teaching a course in **APSC 180: Science Preparation for the Winter 2025 term**. This course will develop the necessary science and related math skills for students to be successful in higher-level physics and chemistry courses. **APSC 180: Science Preparation** includes the topics of technical measurement, energy flow in technological systems, energy and matter in chemical change, and properties in water.

This in-person course runs in the daytime during the Winter term, and the successful applicant must be available for the following delivery pattern: Mon 9-10:50 am, Wed 3-4:50 pm, Fri 1-2:50 pm.

**The Role**:

- Deliver engaging courses in an applied educational setting, utilizing a variety of innovative teaching methods to reach all students.
- Evaluate students' progress and provide timely, formative feedback.
- Prepare additional study and lab materials for diverse learners.
- Provide ongoing academic support, guidance and advice to students.
- Familiarize students with available SAIT supports and make referrals as needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues, sharing materials and innovative ideas to improve the student experience.
- Perform related duties as assigned to meet the emerging needs of SAIT and its students.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), or related discipline; a graduate degree is considered an asset.
- Minimum of 2 years’ post-secondary teaching experience. Experience teaching high school-level courses is an asset.
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
- Intermediate-level proficiency using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and cultural competency skills.
- Excellent ability to manage and prioritize responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of inclusive and trauma-informed educational practices is considered an asset.
- Familiarization with current Alberta Education practices is considered an asset.
