How you spend your day with us:
Essential duties and responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of Finance and working closely with the global Finance Team, you will manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, journal entries, accounts payables, accounts receivable, taxes and reporting for our Canadian and US operations.
**Your main tasks will be to**:
- Process, reconcile and prepare financial accounts and reporting packs for the North American organization ensuring compliance with internal controls and both company and government regulations
- Assist on yearly reporting for fiscal and audit reporting
- Prepare monthly journal entries, monthly financial statements, tax reports and provide analysis on variance and Ad Hoc reporting and analysis
- Assist Director of Finance on both Canada and USA offices’ financial matters as it relates to statutory reporting and provide a professional opinion for various matters
- Prepare annual budgets and monitor performance against budgets, forecast to support the organization’s strategic goals
- Liaise with external vendors regarding tax, statutory reporting and ensure consistent cashflow and maintain timely payments to various service providers, taxes, and other non-budgetary payments.
What you bring in:
- Your 5+ years of relevant experience in finance, preferably in financial analyst and/or accounting (SaaS environment would be a plus)
- Your relevant education (e.g., degree level in Finance)
- Your expertise in MS Office, Excel, SAP and knowledge of US tax would be a plus
- Your strong communication and problem-solving skills as well as your ability to work in an international team.
- Your desire to keep track of complex financial data, your analytical and self-guided approach as well as your ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments.
- A team player with a high degree of initiative, collaborating cross-functionally and with a can-do approach.
