**POSITION OVERVIEW**

Influences SaskTel's present and future business position by identifying and defining opportunities and threats in SaskTel's business environment, then determining and leading appropriate action to respond. Facilitates Corporate planning, recommending appropriate Corporate direction regarding specific issues and implementing recommendations when so directed. Assists SaskTel senior management in developing present and future direction for the Corporation and ensuring key risks are identified and managed.

**SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES**

1. Accountable for the development of the SaskTel Holding Corporation Strategic plan including receiving required SaskTel Executive, SaskTel Board, and Crown Investment Corporation Board approvals.
2. Accountable for leading the Enterprise Risk Management process to identify, assess, and rate the company's key strategic and operational risks (including SaskTel's wholly owned subsidiaries). This includes developing the policy, framework and tools, facilitating the annual risk review process, and ongoing monitoring and reporting.
3. Provide senior management with consulting services in the development of corporate strategic direction and plans through the provision of researched and analyzed information regarding external and internal industry analysis, legislative changes, external and internal environment scanning, organization design alternatives, and industry productivity measures.
4. Facilitates the development of corporate direction by proactively identifying strategic issues which impact SaskTel's success; develops, and presents to senior management, proposals and recommendations responding to identified opportunities and threats.
5. Coordinates corporate activities relating to initiatives in an effort to minimize duplication and provide a direction to development that will benefit all SaskTel business units.
6. Responsible for ongoing reporting on the progress of implementation activities. Reporting includes variance analysis with respect to the annual action plans from all divisions, corporate key indicators and agreed to business metrics.
7. Expedites implementation of strategic decisions, including assembling multi-division teams and providing overall project/program management where required.
8. Develop contacts and maintain relationships with other telecommunication companies, consultants, suppliers, customers, government agencies, private firms and other sources of information of strategic value to SaskTel.
9. Accountable for coordinating corporate communications activities related to the Strategic Planning and Reporting to a number of internal and external groups.
10.Accountable for the facilitation, coordination, and leadership of teams that will identify and resolve organizational irritants, problems and concerns.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor of Administration or Commerce degree or equivalent combined education and work experience.
- Ability to build, manage and foster client relationships across departments across the organization and external parties.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence and interact effectively with senior management throughout the corporation.
- Experience facilitating strategic planning sessions.
- Strong analytical, research, planning and project management skills.
- A strong team player.
- Ability to manage constantly changing priorities, multiple initiatives and meet rigorous deadlines.
- Knowledge of the evolving industry and SaskTel, including service offerings and operational processes.
- Aptitude for innovative approach to business opportunities.
- Strong understanding of SaskTel’s key stakeholders.
