This is the most exciting time in the history of cancer research and care.
We are on the cusp of true transformation. Cancer is the world’s biggest health crisis and the BC Cancer Foundation—the fundraising partner of BC Cancer—has launched the most ambitious and comprehensive healthcare campaign in BC’s history to lead this transformation and elevate cancer care for all British Columbians.
With over 90 employees working across 5 sites in B.C, we are one of the largest non-profit organizations in the province. We engage with over 100,000 donors and communities to inspire philanthropic investment in BC Cancer, and we partner with some of the world’s leading researchers, oncologists and care providers.
At the BC Cancer Foundation, we are a professional, passionate, and positive team who believe that we can help make a positive difference in the lives of all British Columbians and bring us closer to a world free of Cancer.
We are driven by a collective purpose to be a catalyst, powering world class innovation while supporting deeply personal cancer patient journeys.
**About the Opportunity**:
This position is a blend of donor interaction and program coordination, supporting the success of BC Cancer Foundation’s Community Giving & Direct Response programs with a particular focus on Tributes, Monthly Giving and Community Partner Events.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Community Giving & Direct Response, key responsibilities will include:
Outbound thank you calls/texts to new monthly donors, exploring their reasons for giving and providing information on the impact of their support, and collecting feedback on their experience with our door-to-door canvassers

Responding to inbound inquiries and feedback across all Community Giving & Direct Response programs
Supporting champions in setting up Tributes and Community Events/Personal Fundraising activities, including creating dedicated fundraising pages using our online giving platform
Using our donor database (Raiser’s Edge) to input data, and to perform regular queries, exports and imports
General administrative support for the Community Giving & Direct Response team, including invoice and expense preparation, regular reports, inventory management, volunteer database and project coordination
Assisting fundraisers within the department with tasks related to their donor portfolios
Liaison with our Advancement Services department to update donor information, provide gift coding, and triage donor requests
Occasional evenings/weekends, and travel within the province to support community partner events
**Qualifications**:
A minimum two years’ experience in customer/donor service and administrative support, preferably with a fundraising organization, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
**Core Knowledge & Skills**:
Ability to deliver exceptional customer service, displaying empathy and tact when responding to sensitive situations
Demonstrated project coordination and implementation skills, with an aptitude for detail
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, and an ability to quickly learn new technology platforms. Experience with sophisticated fundraising databases, particularly Raiser’s Edge would be an asset.

**What We Offer**:
4 weeks’ vacation plus office closure between Christmas Eve and New Years, as well as half days office closures before each statutory holiday
Comprehensive benefit package including coverage for health, dental, vision and various paramedical services, plus participation in the Employee & Family Assistance Program
