Department Overview
Environment, Social & Governance Credit Risk Management (ESG-CRM) under Non-Financial Risk Management (NFRM) is responsible for the identification, assessment, remediation and reporting of climate risk within TDBG's credit portfolio. The group is accountable for ensuring that the risks associated with climate change are incorporated into the broader assessment of how TD's credit products and exposures fit within TD's Risk Appetite. ESG-CRM provides strategic guidance, advice and independent challenge to support TD in achieving its climate objectives in the broader context of meeting its strategic objectives.
**Job Description**:
Key accountabilities include:
- Support the development of climate credit risk action plans for different Businesses: identifying existing controls and gap analysis, recommending potential gap mitigation activities, and quantifying the impact of potential risks and solutions- Lead the execution of ESG scenario analysis for the credit portfolio, consistently exploring avenues for process enhancements and augmenting data comprehensiveness to ensure robust risk assessment- Work closely with our partners across ESG-Risk, the Businesses, and Model Development to develop insights and further the Bank's understanding and management of climate risk within the credit portfolio- Represent credit risk in climate-related workshops and engage senior management on key decision-making as appropriate- Support ad-hoc deliverables related to climate risk management on TD's credit portfolio
Job Requirements- Analytical skills: ability to analyze data/ information, to effectively challenge, and to make proper recommendation- Strategic thinking: convergent and divergent thinking; think outside the box; ability to connect the dots- Strong communication skills: clear articulation of the risks identified; facilitate effective discussion on complex issues- Adaptivity: ability to remain organized and manage through multiple deliverables- Risk focused: driven to support the Business prudently, with a focus on solutions that work through the economic cycle- Relationship management skills: know how to work with both Business and Technology partners- Organizational awareness: acumen to understand roles, relationships, and structures within the organization
Additional Information- Credit risk experience and/or stress testing/modelling/loss forecasting experience is preferred- ESG experience or experience in other risk areas are considered assets- Ability to manage and analyze large data sets is considered an asset
