Maintenance Supervisor/coordinator, Aircraft

The Maintenance Supervisor/Coordinator, Aircraft will delegate and assign work as required to the team and self. Oversee all maintenance activities and ensure efficiency and safety. Ensure safety requirements are maintained.

Level: As per the GAFAE Collective Agreement.

Pay Rate: As per the GAFAE Collective Agreement.

Reporting to: Senior Manager, Maintenance Operations, East.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Must be able to perform, but not be limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:_
- Responsible for maintenance activities carried out on the aircraft during his/her assigned shift;
- This includes, but is not limited to repairs, inspections, modifications, re-configurations, grooming and aircraft movements;
- Assigns ACA holders and mechanics to their various tasks. Supervises and guides them in order that they carry out their duties in a safe, efficient and economical manner;
- Ensures that all maintenance performed by employees working under his/her responsibility is to proper standards and uses approved materials and practices;
- Ensures all planned Task Cards), periodic inspections, and Deferred Maintenance Items (DMIs) are carried out in a timely manner;
- Ensures that all work carried out is properly documented in accordance with the PMM and that the proper certification is entered in the log books. In the case where a repair is accomplished to an aircraft that requires periodic inspections, advises the Director of Quality Assurance in writing;
- Ensures proper completion of all Aircraft Part Tags, both serviceable and unserviceable, are completed or originated on his/her shift;
- Responsible for the care and control of Company owned publications, tools, and equipment by personally ensuring that publications, tools, and equipment are returned after use;
- Ensure facility housekeeping by personally ensuring that the hangar, equipment, and office areas are left in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion at the end of his/her shift;
- Ensures that any required Maintenance Irregularity Reports (MIRs), Service Difficulty Reports (SDRs), Daily Status Reports, and Aircraft Problem Communication Reports are completed and sent in a timely manner;
- Responsible for OH&S compliance while on shift;
- Maintains effective communication between Maintenance, Engineering, Facilities Maintenance, and other Supply Chain groups;
- Ensures team members are following procedures in order to ensure maximum efficiency, compliance, and safety; and
- Other duties as assigned.

**SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:_
- Must have 4 - 9 years related experience;
- Previous supervisory training and/or experience considered an asset;
- Must hold valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License M2 category;
- ACA on ATR 42, B-737 considered asset;
- Must be familiar with maintenance control - technical operation functions;
- Must possess superior interpersonal & communication skills for internal and external customers;
- Must be adept at managing multiple priorities and deadlines under mínimal supervision;
- Must be available for night shifts;
- Ability to communicate in Inuktut a definite asset; and
- Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Area Identity Card in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada.
