Barrie, Canada Victoria Village Manor Full time

Join the Victoria Village team this summer We are looking for someone excited to serve as a recreation aide and assist program staff with recreation therapy activities this summer.

**Responsibilities & Duties**:

- Assist residents to and from programs
- Assist with running resident activities
- Provide assistance in dining room during meals
- Set-up and clean up after programs
- Assist residents with special events and outings
- Other duties as assigned

**Requirements**:

- Currently enrolled in the Recreation and Leisure or related program at a recognized university
- Basic computer skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to follow direction and work in a team environment

This position is funded under the Canada Summer Jobs program, and to be eligible, youth must:

- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period;
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

Proof of a minimum of an original series of COVID-19 immunization required.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Contract length: 8 weeks

Pay: $18.55 per hour

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Barrie, ON L4N 1G3: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
