Almonte General Hospital and Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital created the Mississippi River Health Alliance (MRHA) in 2016 to formalize their commitment to work together to improve each patient and resident’s overall health care experience through a strong, coordinated system of care. An integrated Senior Team leads the two Hospitals, as well as Fairview Manor and Lanark County Paramedic Service which are operating divisions of AGH. Over 600 caring staff, physicians and midwives provide excellent primary, acute and long-term care to citizens of Lanark County, West Ottawa and Renfrew County.

We are currently seeking a **Casual Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA)**. The incumbent is responsible for providing clinical care for assigned patients under the direction of the Physiotherapist and the Occupational Therapist, and performs associated functions to support service delivery.

**Basic Requirements**:

- Certificate from a Physiotherapist Assistant/Occupational Therapist Assistant Program, recognized by the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and by the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
- Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing current technology including Microsoft Office Suites, Meditech.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and communication skills in dealing with patients, their families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and document client care plan and progress.
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to health and safety policies, procedures and applicable legislation.
- A demonstrated ability to perform the extensive physical demands of the position.
- Availability to work a flexible work schedule.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Minimum of six (6) months’ experience in an Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy setting.
- Previous placement or work experience in rehabilitation, community-based service provision and fee-for-service work.
- Demonstrated understanding of the principles of rehabilitation and the rehabilitation process.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent, Casual

Pay: $27.87-$31.20 per hour

Expected hours: 15 per week
