**Who We Are**

The Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) department oversees the governance of the Foundation’s technological systems and functionality of the systems overall. The department provides expertise and tools to support the Foundation’s stakeholders in the most effective and efficient way possible.

**About This Role**

The Manager, Enterprise Architecture & Data Systems plays a lead role in developing and maintaining the integrity and functionality of the Foundation's data assets, through supporting an effective data governance framework, providing technical leadership, and leading and managing the Data Systems team.

Reporting to the Director, Information Services & Technology, this position will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Foundation’s enterprise architecture, and will lead the design, development, implementation, and operation of data systems that support the strategic vision and operational plans of the VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation.

Working with key business partners, this position is responsible for developing and maintaining an enterprise architecture, managing projects linked to strategic and operational objectives, and providing leadership and oversight to the Data Systems team to ensure stated project outcomes are achieved.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Leads and manages the Data Systems team to ensure the integrity and functionality of the Foundation's data assets
- Works with the Data Governance Council and department colleagues to maintain and improve the Foundation’s data quality and data architecture
- Provides technical direction for the design, enhancement, and deployment of data technologies
- Supports the Foundation’s data users to ensure data quality, error and defect management and theremediation of data quality issues for all data elements
- Understands the needs of each business group and how data architecture and Salesforce can best beutilized to allow the Foundation to use the fundraising system and available data more effectively
- Serves as the lead administrator of the Data Warehouse, and other data assets ensuring continuous dataintegration between Salesforce and the DW, and its day-to-day functioning and performance
- Uses the data warehouse to develop a comprehensive set of data management and integrity rules, scripts,and reports to monitor data integrity and the data management performance of the user community (including eliminating duplicates and finding and solutions for data inconsistencies, e.g., where data do not match business rules, and data archiving tools and processes)
- For technical, workflow or permissions issues, including the importing of third-party data sources, proactively completes necessary research, diagnoses, and reports emerging issues/risks, makes recommendations for solutions, and liaises with individuals or teams as required
- Independently or through delegation, resolves varied and moderately complex issues, informing the Director/ other key stakeholders and making recommendations where there is cross-Foundation risk or impact

- Holds expert knowledge of SQL Server and DB Amp, integration between the Data Warehouse andSalesforce, configuration, architecture, and product features and how these platforms can support businessgoals
- Strong people leadership and coaching ability, coupled with experience of managing a team
- Advanced ability to think critically and analytically while working in a fast-paced environment - respond torequested changes, validate needs against existing system capabilities and any future product roadmap, toprovide optimal recommendations
- Proven technical acumen, with the ability to fully understand business requirements, pain points, andtranslate them into functional design.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and initiative-taking in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions.
