**SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALIST**

**Part Time (5 hours/ week) - Term Position (to March 31, 2024)**

**CANDIDATE PROFILE**:The Social Media Specialist is:

- experienced in creating and promoting social media content
- skilled in working with various social media platforms and web editing tools
- experienced in involving families to support their children’s physical activities,
- active in promoting the benefit of learning about and supporting social purpose organizations

**POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY**:Guided by the vision, mission and values of the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization of Manitoba, Inc. (IRCOM), the Social Media Specialist under the supervision of the Executive Director, and working closely with the Executive Assistant, will carry out the following duties and responsibilities:

- Create, gather and coordinate content for IRCOM’s social media platforms
- Monitor and update IRCOM’s website and Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn accounts
- Create graphics for various fundraising and awareness campaigns and posts
- Maintain and share current information on topics important to IRCOM’s work
- Use social media post content to help draft quarterly external newsletter to be sent out via Constant Contact
- Ensure social media posts are linked and appear on IRCOM’s website and ensure a unified online presence”
- Gather information, photos or videos at IRCOM events as requested
- Complete tasks in a timely, efficient and accurate manner
- Perform other duties related to this role as assigned

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSequired Qualifications**:

- Excellent knowledge Social Media platforms and support software including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Hootsuite etc.
- Creative outlook with ability to follow brand guidelines and cater to target audiences
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to pitch and express ideas clearly
- Ability to work independently, take initiative and generate new ideas to advance the IRCOM brand
- Demonstrated capability to work under pressure, meet tight timelines and adjust to new priorities
- Intermediate level experience with social media best practices
- Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail
- Patient, positive attitude, hardworking, organized, reliable
- Proven ability to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, as well as have a clear Child Abuse Registry Check

**Desired Qualifications**:

- Graphic design skills and experience
- Web editing skills using WordPress
- Ability to learn new software and social media platforms

**Hours of work**:This is a 5 hours per week position until March 31, 2024, requiring a flexible schedule working primarily remotely.

**Wage**:$16.24/hour
