Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM Product Portfolio Managers deliver business results by bringing high-quality products to market by defining the strategy and execution plans of the portfolio while continuously innovating to achieve market leadership. Product Portfolio Managers are experts at market and business analysis, product definition, product roadmap, pricing, ecosystem, channel strategy, strategic planning, competitive analysis, innovation, and leading cross-functional teams. They manage the product lifecycle from inception through growth, maturity, and end of life stages and define partnership and ecosystem strategy for product execution. They are experts in the field and are recognized as a credible voice in the market.

Product Portfolio Managers operate in a demanding role at the epicenter of multidisciplinary teams which include design, engineering, sales, tech sales, marketing, finance, and legal. In this role, you’ll play a role in product planning and execution through the product life cycle. This includes gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, competitive differentiation, defining vision, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure market success for the product and customer satisfaction. The Product Manager’s job also includes ensuring the product supports the company’s overall strategy and goals. This role requires collaboration and coordination across internal and external teams and is visible across the organization.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Lead IBM Application Runtimes product portfolio ($900M+) and deliver on Revenue Goals & OKRs
- Partner with peer product leaders to develop product plans which have dependencies on Application Runtimes
- Lead team to prioritize, develop and execute outcome-based roadmaps, business models and go-to-market plans.
- Lead & prepare the product team to present concept playbacks, commitment pitches, launch readiness reviews and half yearly roadmap plans at various points in the year.
- Define pricing, packaging, and positioning and measure key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Lead and manage product life cycle from requirements prioritization and quarterly planning to tactical execution.
- Lead engineering interlocks to progress committed plans from design through delivery.
- Support the field with product requests to progress new and existing client deals
- Work with customers & Business Partners to understand pain points, discuss enhancement requests, evangelize product capabilities, and engage various disciplines to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Create and deliver customer facing activities including delivery of blogs and live demos on new capabilities using strong communication and presentation skills.
- Lead and guide Product team members to conduct market research and competitive study regularly.
- Own, lead and drive the submission of analyst responses for annual reports.
- Work with product management leadership and sales leadership around the world to understand and track the health and adoption of product offers and gather feedback.
