Reporting to the Manager of Parks Operations, the Supervisor of Parks Maintenance & Facilities is responsible for ensuring effective delivery and supervision of maintenance programs for the City of Brantford. This position will also oversee the supervision of projects, staff, and vendors, as well as perform system and facility inspections, ensure high quality facility standards and expectations and undertake repairs as necessary. The Supervisor also oversees winter maintenance activities relating to winter control of park properties and associated areas and other assigned seasonal duties. Although shift work is not anticipated it is a possibility in the winter months as a result of potential shared duties with the Public Works Department. This position must be available to be on call to provide response to Parks Services inquiries on a rotating schedule. Hours of work are 35 hours/week; at times work hours may include afternoons and weekends as well as occasional unscheduled hours for overtime, as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Successful completion of a two year college program or equivalent in parks management, general maintenance, Certified Engineering Technician or skilled trade
- Must have a current Canadian Playground Safety Institute playground inspector certification
- Must have a current Cross Connection Certification (backflow)
- Ontario Parks Association Spray Pad Practitioner Certification would be considered an asset
- Certified Arena Refrigeration Plant Technician would be considered an asset
- Ontario Parks Association Trail Inspector Certification would be considered an asset
- Minimum of three (5) years of progressive work experience in a related field; general building maintenance and park construction/landscaping design/work
- Minimum of (3) years demonstrated experience procuring and tendering goods and services in a municipal environment
- Minimum of (3) years of proven leadership experience, supervising a substantial number of staff or leading large work teams, preferably in a unionized, municipal environment
- Excellent customer service, strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and document daily activities as required
- Proficient computer skill, including working knowledge of the Microsoft office suite of programs as well as collector and ArcGIS
- A valid G Ontario Driver’s License in good standing
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Occupation Health and Safety Act, and safe work practices
- Ability to manage multiple changing demands, priorities and implement a continuous learning approach
- A current police records check (dated within the last three months) for the approval by the corporation (as a condition of employment)
- Certification in First Aid and CPR level C
- IMS 200 Certification or equivalent (ICS200) is considered an asset. Subject to course availability, certification must be achieved within the first year of employment.

**WAGE/SALARY RANGE**: $46.44 to $58.05 per hour (35 hours per week) plus benefits.
