In your role you will:
- Lead day-to-day payroll operations using Workday for accurate bi-weekly and monthly processing across diverse employee groups nationwide.- Lead a team of 10 payroll specialists and administrators.- Conduct audits and quality control checks for payroll transactions.- Identify and define opportunities to improve payroll-related functions and collaborate with support teams to test and implement pay system updates.- Oversee regular, month-end, and year-end activities, including government remittances, returns, etc- Liaise with finance counterparts for operational activities such as cash management and postings of payroll related expenses in our financial system.-
- Provide coaching, guidance, and support to the Payroll team- Maintain and update payroll policies and documentation.- Ensure the preparation of essential payroll remittances, including taxes, RRSPs, and other third party remittances.- Take charge of accurate and timely annual filings and reporting to government agencies (e.g. CRA, Revenu Québec) and other necessary documentation.- Oversee and support the recovery of employee receivables

**Requirements**:
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) Certificate and Payroll Leadership Certificate (PLP) preferred.- University degree in HR, Business Administration or related field preferred or college diploma.- 10+ years of progressive payroll or related experience.- 2-3 years of people management experience.- Previous experience with Workday is preferred.- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French.- Experience in accounting and reconciling payroll GL accounts.- Strong time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.- Able to relay technical terms and explain payroll processes in a practical way.- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage competing priorities.- Strong attention to detail, organized, flexible, and adaptable.- Demonstrated technical and analytical skills.- Commitment to confidentiality and discretion.
