The Freight Operations Supervisor oversees inbound and outbound freight processes, with a focus on coordinating carrier-related activities. This role includes optimizing operations, managing carrier relationships, ensuring timely movement of goods, handling branch network transfers, and managing dock schedules. Leading a team, the Supervisor strives for seamless coordination, effective communication with carriers, and efficient branch network transfers.

**Responsibilities**:
**Carrier Management**
- Manage and cultivate relationships with carriers and third-party logistics providers.
- Coordinate with carriers to ensure timely and accurate processing of inbound and outbound freight.
- Negotiate and manage contracts, rates, and service level agreements with carriers.
- Track and analyze carrier performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
- Resolve any carrier-related issues or discrepancies in collaboration with carriers and internal teams.
- Optimize carrier routes and strategies for cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
**Branch Network Transfers**
- Facilitate transfers of goods to and from the branch network.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure accurate and timely branch transfers.
- Optimize processes for branch network transfers to enhance efficiency and meet performance targets.
**Dock Appointment Scheduling**
- Manage the inbound dock appointment schedule to ensure efficient and organized receiving processes.
- Oversee the outbound schedule to coordinate timely shipments and meet customer delivery expectations.
Qualifications:
**You Must Have**:
- Post secondary degree or diploma in supply chain, logistics, or a related field is preferred
- Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role in freight operations, with a focus on carrier management.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems, inventory control, and freight processing.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance.
- Familiarity with technology used in warehouse management.
- Experience in negotiating and managing contracts with carriers.
- Experience with TWL/Sxe.
**Nice to Have**:
- Knowledge of transportation law and the claims process is an asset.
