**Overview**
**Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities**
- Create Purchase Orders and follow up with vendors weekly about Open Order Report
- Keep up-to-date pricing and ETA for all Purchase Orders
- Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of all requirements
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
- Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers
- Assess, manage, and mitigate supply chain risks
- Ensure compliance with company policy, safety standards & quality standards
- Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal term
**Create and Process Purchase Orders**
- Purchases items from vendors and suppliers, filling out all necessary purchase orders
- Process purchase orders, updating digital files as needed to record purchases made, and all other relevant information (ETA, Pricing, ETA )
- Ensure SDS Sheets and WSIB certificates from 3rd party are up to date, monthly
**Monitor Inventory and Ensure Delivery**
- Purchasers monitor and maintain inventory levels, ordering new items as needed to keep the inventory fully stocked and supplied
- Participate and assist with year-end inventory
- Ensure that purchased orders are delivered by coordinating with warehouse and receiving staff
- Liaising with delivery and shipping/receiving teams to ensure goods are received on time
- Inspecting purchased products upon delivery and reporting any issues in a timely manner
**Manage Relationships**
- Locate new vendors and establish working relationships with them. They also maintain existing vendor and supplier relationships
- Negotiate new contracts with existing and new vendors and suppliers
**Sourcing Products**
- Purchaser shop and searches for the best available deals on needed items by looking up prices from multiple vendors and suppliers to find the highest-quality items for the lowest price and delivery.
- Conducting self-guided research on potential products, vendors, and services, and comparing price and quality to ensure the best deal, as well as their costs and benefits.
- Supporting and sourcing parts for manufacturing shop floor with daily requirements
**Reports**
- Cost savings/avoidance report
- Ad hoc and KPI reports.
- Other reports required by corporate
**Other**
- Attending and contributing to meetings with staff and other stakeholders
- Participate in company cross-training program (as trainee and trainer)
- Standardizing, implementing, and creating new guidelines, policies, and best practices within the purchasing operation
- Adheres to all company policies & procedures, health and safety policies & procedures, regulations & standards, quality standards and good housekeeping 5S practices
- Commit to and participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methods.
- Will demonstrate, promote and exemplify the company’s core values in safety, people, quality and growth
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
**Requirements**:
- Proficient-Expert in Excel and strong computer skills to keep digital files updated and manage company’s electronic files
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in a purchasing role
- Work experience in a manufacturing or similar setting
- Completion of post-secondary education/applicable certification
- Sound research and analytical skills
- Strong negotiating, networking and relationship building skills
- Excellent multi-tasking and organization skills
Great interpersonal relationship skill

**Salary**: $45,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
