The Opportunity:
We are looking for a

**Paralegal to** join our Legal team in a temporary 12-month position. Reporting to the Director Legal & Corporate Secretary, you will work in the Legal Department and be responsible for providing expertise and hands-on support.

Key elements of this role include:

- Drafting correspondence, document management and monitoring contract expiry dates.
- Maintaining the SharePoint site for Legal Services.
- Maintaining a document tracking system, scheduling appointments and meetings.
- Proof-reading and editing documents, opening and closing files, maintaining paper and electronic files, and performing other related paralegal functions.
- As a key member of the Legal Department, you may also be required to participate in project work.

You will be responsible for personal safety, that of co-workers, and those under your direction by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.

These skills will make you successful:
You recognize yourself in most of the following competencies, and possess or are working towards the desired skills and experience listed below:

- Formal paralegal training as well as a university degree in a related field; BA or equivalent is considered an asset.
- You are a hands-on practitioner, highly organized, handle pressure well, and have the ability to handle multiple projects and understand the importance of deadlines. You must also know how to relate to people in a variety of situations, be highly trustworthy, discreet, and use good judgment.
- You possess strong analytical and quantitative skills, are attentive to detail and like to work in a dynamic environment.
- You are customer focused and work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Prior experience in records management would also be an asset but is not required.
- Proficiency in the MS Office Suite of software (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook), and Internet Explorer is required.
