**Summary**

Under the direction of the **Front Desk Manager, **the **Night Auditor** works overnights strictly and must have a keen attention to detail, a positive attitude and maintains a high level of Customer Service and professionalism, working with mínimal supervision. Our Front Office team is one of the first contacts for our guests and vital to ensuring this first interaction is a positive and lasting impression.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
- Have a complete and full understanding of Night Audit duties, including but not limited to check-in, check-out, reservations and hotel operating procedures.
- Answer enquiries regarding hotel services and registration, provide information about services available in the community and respond to guests' questions or concerns
- Compile and check daily record sheets, guest accounts, receipts and vouchers using computerized or manual systems
- Present statements of charges to departing guests and receive payment.
- Daily accounting data entry and reconciliations
- Post all daily room and outstanding charges.
- Balance all revenue totals of cash and credits against the revenue report.
- Prepare hotel operating reports and complete audit package to standards.
- Correct any errors or omissions made by cashiers.
- Prepare Credit Card/Charge Card summaries and post them to the ledger account.
- Provide assistance and work with Security Personnel regarding items that may occur regarding in-house guests
- Become familiar and comfortable with Health & Safety and emergency situations
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Education, Qualification and Requirements**
- Minimum of 2 (two) years of Front Office or related experience preferred
- 1 year of experience as a Hotel Night Auditor preferred
- 1 to 2-year Degree or Diploma; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong working knowledge of accounting practices and principles
- Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of clients and offer the appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions required
- Must be fluent in English, both written and oral.
- Strong computer skills required
- Must also be able to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously
- Ability to stay alert and productive during overnight shifts
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- As a condition of employment, associates are to have a criminal record check prior to their first day of work

**Work Environment**
- This position requires frequent standing and walking
- May perform repetitive work, such as operating a computer, or talking to a guest or telephone.
- May work in a noisy or distracting environment, such as during busy holidays.
- Ability to tolerate exposure to heat and cold

**Hours of Work**
- The hours of work for this position will vary depending on operational requirements but will include the graveyard shift as well as weekends and holidays.
